Survival sex workers are the bar based and street based sex workers who relay on sex work to earn a living. These sisters face challenges that include substance use, criminalization, GBV, low levels of education, poverty etc. and these conditions increase their vulnerabilities and fuels stigma. They also have unique SRH & HIV prevention and treatment needs. AWA prioritises working with survival sex workers in order to respond to their vast needs using human rights based approaches.
